WORLD MISSION CONFERENCE BISHOP BENNETT RETURNS NEW ZEALANDERS DOING SPLENDID WORK I Per Prebb Aasoclutiun.J WELLINGTON, Feb. 20. The Bishop of Aotearoa, Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett, returned from the world missions conference a. Tambaram, near Madras, India. The conference is held about once every ten years. There were nearly 500 delegates, he said, from 70 different nationuities and the universality of i.ie English language was shown by t.:r face that they all understood it and were able to conduct the entire conference without the assistance of inleipreters. The other New Zealand delegates were Mr. and Mrs. MacDarmid, church representatives, and Mr. C* Falloon, representing university students.

"It struck me that this conference might lead to a solution of a great many of the difficulties that arise

to-day between the various nationalities,” said Bishop Bennett. "If the idea of a spiritual Geneva could br established on the principles of Christian faith it would help to soive those problems. All representatives c.” the 70 nations at the conference met in perfect friendship.” He had been very interested to sec the harmonious relations that existed between the Chinese and Japanese delegates. Bishop Bennett visited the New Zealanders doing missionary work in India. All, he said, were doing excellent work, particularly in the educational field.
