WANGANUI EAST AND RATA HOME TEAM’S EASY WIN. At the week-end Wanganui East Tennis Club played a friendly match with Rata at the Wanganui East courts. Wanganui East had a fairly easy win. The courts were very fast and had plenty of grass. Mr. A. Walker, on behalf of the Wanganui East Club, welcomed the matches with the country had for a visitors. The home - and - away number of years been one of the most enjoyable features of the Wanganui East Club’s activities, he said, and the members looked forward to them more so than the Association interclub matches. Mr. Alton Rhodes replied for the Rata Club and thanked the Wanganui East Club for the invitation to play at their courts. He also stressed the point that although they were defeated, that was not everything, because they all enjoyed the day. He paid a compliment to the club, on the beautiful grounds and the condition of the courts, and he called for three cheers for the ladies who provided the afternoon tea. An enjoyable afternoon tea was served by the Wanganui East Women’s committee under the supevision of Miss Ede.
