Presentation of the Loder Cup to Mrs. Knox Gilmer, the first woman to be awarded the trophy, which is presented in recognition of work done for the preservation and development of New Zaland flora. The presentation was made at the Wellington Horticultural Society’s midsummer show in the Town Hall. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, is seen handing over the trophy. Mrs. Gilmer is the first person to have been awarded both the Bledisloe Cup and the Loder Cup.
