ARAMOHO BOATING CLUB BAIRD PAIRS RACING BROWN WINS FINAL The racing for the Baird pairs was conducted by the Aramoho Boating Club on Saturday afternoon under ideal conditions. Racing was exceptionally keen and some exciting finishes were seen. Results are:— First Round. R. Boyland won from C. McNicol by inches. J. Brown won from I. Pepper by two lengths. C. Harrison won from L. Sleycr by one and a-quarter lengths. J. Fothergill won from V. Benefield by two lengths. Second Round. F. Laird won from R. Boyland by one length. J. Brown won from C. Harrison b\ two feet. Semi-Final. F. Laird won from J. Fothergill by half a length. Final. J. Brown won from F. Laird by half a length. In the final both crews got away to a good start and rowed together to Webb’s shed, where Brown sprinted and gained a half-length lead. Although Laird made every endeavour Brown held his lead to pass the judge with half a length to spare. The personnel of the winning crew was J. Brown (str.) and H. Smith (bow).
Gedye Pairs. Members arc reminded that entries are now open for the Gedye pairs and racing for this trophy win be held on Saturday afternoon next, commencing at 2 o’clock.
UNION BOAT CLUB
SPRINT FOURS RACING BENGE STROKES WINNING (REW Sprint lours racing was held by the Union Boat Club on Saturday, the final being won by the crew stroked by Benge. Following are the results:— First Round.—Delves won from Tonks by half a length, with Coxon a length away. Second Round.—Benge won from Halkett by a length, with Granville a length away. Repecharge heats. Gould won from Tonks by halt a length, with Granville a length away. Halkett won from Coxon by half a canvas. Semi-final. Benge won from Delves by a length. Final.—Benge won from Halkett by halt a length, with Gould a similar distance away. The winning crew consisted of Benge (str.), Chappel, Moosman and Shepherd. At the clubhouse afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies. President's Doubles The final of the President’s Doubles was re-rowed during the week-end, Pringle having a rather comfortable win from Signal.

WELLINGTON CREW [ Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Feb. 19. The Wellington Rowing Association's sole selector, Mr. A. E. White, has chosen the following crew to represent Wellington at the'interprovincial eights at Dunedin at Easter: O. N. Clayton, A. Hope, P. A. Abbott, D. J. Boswell, K. Boswell, L. Carter (all Petone), G. C. Cooke, A. A. Andrews (both Star). Reserve, O. Wares (Wellington).
