LABOUR PARTY PICNIC
GATHERING AT RAETIHI On Saturday last the first children’s picnic organised by the Raetihi branch of the New Zealand Labour Party was held at the Recreation Reserve at Raetihi. The day was gloriously fine and the children had a really great day. Some 50 events were run off expeditiously and every child was afforded the opportunity to gain one or more toys from a huge supply on hand. Free ice creams, drinks, fruit and afternoon tea helped to make a memorable day. The success of the day was largely to careful planning by a host of willing helpers who worked assiduously for the day’s enjoyment. It is the intention of the promoters to make the event an annual affair.
