LAWN TENNIS (Own Correspondent). PATEA, Feb. 10. The following will play against Opunake at Patea to-day in a B grade match: Misses E. Whitehead, E. Cousins, A. Loftus, and Mrs. H. A. Boswell; Messrs. S. and E. Cousins, H. A. Boswell and R. Burgess. Entries for the club championships close on the 15th. inst. and it is hoped , to commence play on Saturday, February 18. One-mile Cycle.—G. Williams 1, J. Harris 2, I. Hermon 3. ALPINE CLUB Owing to increased interest being displayed in other centres, at a committee meeting of the Mount Egmont Alpine Club at. Hawera on Tuesday, Mr. J. Peacocke was authorised to convene a public meeting at Patea for the purpose of forming a branch.
