SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the school committee was held in the school on February 1. The recently appointed headmaster, Mr. Mills, and secondary assistant, Mr. Meiklejohn, were introduced to members of the committee and parents of the secondary pupils by the chairman, Mr. W. E. Boshier. Each replied and thanked those present for the hospitality extended to them on their arrival in the district and said it was their desire to carry out their duties not only to the pupils, but to the district as well. Mr. Meiklejohn outlined the various aspects of the secondary department and answered questions relative to the different subjects suitable. The secondary department has started with a roll number , 16 and is being conducted in the local hall until the new school is available, which will be, it is hoped, about the middle of March. The primary department has a roll number of 65. The committee had a considerable amount of business to transact and the school picnic will be held on the Domain on Saturday February 18. SC HOOL JUBILEE.

A meeting of old pupils of the school was held in the hall last Saturday night. The attendance was rather disappointing for such an important event, but it is hoped that more interest will be shown by the old pupils at the next general meeting to be held in the near future.

Mr. W. E. Boshier was elected to the chair and Mr. R. J. Morgan as secretary. A committee was elected Io gather information and report to a later general meeting.

It was decided that the jubilee be held in the first term holidays in May and that a dance will be held on February 18 to raise funds. It is hoped to be able to have the intimation of the school jubilee broadcast over the air so that old pupils and teachers who are able to attend will he able to send their names and addresses to the secretary. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
