SWIMMLNG. The head teacher of the local school has been taking advantage of the fine weather to teach the children swim ming and life-saving. PERSONAL. Misses lona and Nora Ellery have left on a hop-picking holiday at Nelson. Mr. Hula Thomas, Napier, has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. Ellery over the week-end. Miss A. Thomas has returned home to Bulls after spending a holiday with her cousin, Miss Dell Ellery. Mr. A. M. Thomas, of Taihape, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. Ellery. Mr. and Mrs. W. Whale, of Masterton. are visiting friends and relatives in the district. Mr. F. Thomas, Wanganui, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. Ellery during the week-end. Mr. Howard Thomas, Palmerston North, w:is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. Ellery. Mr. a id Mrs. I. N. Lett have returned after spending the holidays at Foxton Pr-ac.i. Mr. and Mrs R. Keat arJ family, of Hunterville, are spending a fortnight's holiday with Mr. and Mrs. G. Ellery. Mr. L. Simpson, R. Simpson and A. Young are on a camping tour of the Taupo, Rotorua, and Taurangi districts. Mr. and Mrs. J. Ellery and family and Mr. and Mrs. Garrard, junr., have returned home after spending a fortnight's holiday at Castlecliff. Miss N. Masters is visiting relatives ir Mcrere and Hastings. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. K. Btiley will regret to hear of tae unfortunate accident to their son Francis, who "ell out of the car while descending Mt. Stewart. He suffered serious injury to both knees and cuts and bruises, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
