BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS
TUTAENUI FLOWER SHOW t \ RECORD STAGING (Own Corespondent). MARTON, Feb. 8. The Tutaenui Hall was transformed into a garden of beautiful flowers on Wednesday afternoon on the occasion of the annual flower show of the Tutaenui branch of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. Competition was keen in all classes and the entries must have constituted a record. The exhibits were neatly arranged on tables in the centre and at the sides of the hall, making a very pleasing effect. Great credit is due to Mrs. G. Oliver (president) and Mrs. F. R. H. Brice (secretary) of the Tutaenui branch, and their willing band of workers, for the success of their annual effort. Mr. F. Mason (Feilding) judged the cut flowers, Mrs F. H. Dexter the domestic, and Miss R. H. Wing the decorative classes. Misses Jenkins, Miller and Klatt were in charge of the produce stall, Mrs. F. Hammond and Miss Gibbs the ice creams, and Mrs. J. Wood, Mrs. W. H. Coles, and helpers, the afternoon tea.
Mrs. Colquhoun, of Feilding, opened the show and congratulated the ladies on the beautiful show of flowers and the excellence of their domestic work. She stated that the W.I. was doing something of real value in the holding of flower shows. Mrs. Colquhoun presented the points prizes to the dif- i ferent section winners.
