GARDENING CIRCLE WANGANUI WOMEN’S CLUB A very beautiful display of artistically arranged flowers made a pleasing transformation of the lounge of the Wanganui Women’s Club on the occa- ’ sion of the Gardening Circle flower show yesterday afternoon. As well a a the competition exhibits of cut Howers and decorative work, there were special collections on exhibition which' were also greatly admired. One of the exhibits was that shown by Mrs. P. A. O’Neill, consisting of orchids, a collection of petunias and a pot of line maidenhair tern. Another admired stand was of gorgeous coloured hydrangeas, large specimens of depliniums in various colours, also geoeras shown by Mrs. R. Earle. Mrs. \V. G. Woon exhibited a lovely collection of mixed Howers, and another exhibit which attracted attention was a collection of choice zinnias beautifully arranged. The display was shown off to advantage against the deep cream walls and dark woodwork of the lounge. Mr. C. 11. E. Rhodes judged the cut flowers and Mrs. C. N. Paine the decorative work. Their awards were as follows: — Cut flowers, 12 dahlias: Mrs. P. A. O’Neill 1, Mrs. P. Paul 2. six dahlias: Mrs. P. A. O’Neill 1, Mrs. T. Blennerhassett 2. Collection of pom-pom and charm dahlias: Mrs. G. R. Jones J, Mrs. A. McLeod 2. Collection of 12 garden Howers: Mrs. D. Lilburne 1, Mrs. C. Baldwin 2 Bunch of flowers, tied: Mrs. Moore Hunter 1. Decorative, tall vase- oi flowers: Mrs. Moore Hunter 1, Mrs A. McLeod 2, Mrs. P. Paul 3. Bowl of flowers: Mrs. A. McLeod 1 and 2. Posy: Mrs. A. McLeod 1, Mrs. F. Hutchison 2. •' An enjoyable afternoon tea was served to the members and visitors, among whom were Mesdames T. Blennerhassett, P. Paul, H. V. Hammond, F. F. Stapleton, W. G. Woon, C. C. Baldwin, R.
