ROSE AND CARNATION SHOW (From the “Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent). The show in aid of the Church of England building fund was opened on Friday afternoon by Mr R. AV. Smith, 1 M.P., who complimented the committee upon having received such a large entry of cut flowers and the exhibitors on the high standard of the exhibits. During the afternoon there was a good attendance and the stalls all did good business, the majority having sold out before evening. In* the evening the hall was packed for finals of the competitions.
