FOUND DROWNED
MARTIN O’HALLORAN’S DEATH A RETIRED RAILWAY SERVANT. An inquest into the circumstances of the deiath of Martin O’Halloran, a retired engine-driver, whose body was found in the Wanganui River last Monday, was held before the District Coroner, Mr J. S. Barton, S.M., at the Court House on Saturday. Medical evidence Was tendered by Dr G. J. Adams that deceased had been out of sorts for some time lately. Deceased had been worried regarding his mental state, and had an idea that his mind might become deranged. He was quite rational at the time of the, last consultation. Ho appeared to be lafraid of himself and wanted company. Witness was not at all surprised at a suggestion that deceased had drowned himself.
John O’Halloran, a brother of deceased, stated thiat when he called on November 28 to see deceased, he could find no trace of him. His bed had been slept in, but deceased had had no breakfast.
A verdict that deceased was found drowned in the Wanganui River, the, drowning having taken place about November 28, was returned.
