MAORI TEAM REVIEW OF PERFORMANCES. TOURISTS RETURN TO FRANCE. ■ With the varied record of several wins, five losses and two drlaws in the fourteen games played in England and Wales, the Maori Rugby team has returned to France to play a second series of matches. The Maoris lost only one of the nine matches played in France in the early stages of the tour, and, although the team’s record was not so good in Great Britain, the tourists continue to play attractive Rugby. Of the five matches lost in Britain* the Maoris were only three points behind in three—Gloucester, Lian nelly and Cornwall—and the Harlequins won by the comparatively small margin of 11 1 points to 5, but’it was left to Dcvon- ; shire to inflict the sharpest defeat. In that match the Maoris were beaten by 20 points to 0, a margin quite unanticipated in view of the Now Zealanders’ earlier performances. The following table summarises the Maoris’ record in the first series of matches in France and Britain: — In France.
