At the Supreme Court sentences were passed as follows: Angus McDonald, tor four charges of forgery alb. Oamaru, received nine months; Albert Henry Lovelock, two charges of forgery, twelve months; Leonard Nation, theft of a bicycle, thre9 years; Edward Guy Monk, larceny of moneys at the railway station, 18 months. . ROTORUA, November 7. A man named F. J. Usher was arrested this afternoon on a warrant from Tepuke on two charges of false pretences. He was placed in a cell, at 1.30., An hour later he developed symptoms of insanity, and is now a dangerous lunatic. A medical examination was made and the man committed to the asylum at Auckland. Usher is a returned trooper. He served in the Mounted Police in Natal, and holds a medal in connection with the relief of Ladyemith". He came here on horseback on Sunday from Tepuke and had a steamer ticket from Wellington to Onehoniga.
