TRAGEDY AT ROTORUA.
ONE MAN SHOOTS ANOTHER

ROTORUA, October 26. A man named Andrew Campbell, proprietor of the Ediburgh 'boarding-house, gave himself up to the police at seven o'clock to-night stating he had shot a man named Hislop. ;Hislop had gone to Campbell's house about seven o'clock and, on Campbell seoiug 'him there, ordered him away. Hislop did not immediately obey, when Campbell procured a pea rifle and said he would give him tho contents, and forthwith fired, the bullet entering the. forehead and coming out on tho top of the head. Hielop got to the footpath, where he was found by the police insensible. He was removed to the sanatorium, and is being attended to by Dr Wchlmann. Campbell is in chares of the police.
NAPIER, October 26. Information was received nn town tonight from Hotoirua that William Campbell, proprietor of the Edinburgh board-ing-house at that plaoa, had shot Robert Hislop in the head at 6.45 to-night, and had given himself up to the police. Hislop was removed to the Sanatorium, said tih>e doctors consider his case critical. Campbell states that Hislop had annoyed 'him very much of late, and had also insulted his (Campbell's) wife.
