BLENHEIM, Octol)er 23. Replying to a petition for a com ■passionate' allowance for tha widow and ■children of John Lane, who was killed by a fall of earth at the Seddon railway works, tho Minister of Public Works states that they will be entitled to an amount of between £200 and £300 under the Workers' Compensation for .Accidents Act, and the officer in charge of the works is authorised to ix-.ako an advance for immediate relief, if necessary.
