WANGANUI WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs. Levin and Co. and Freeman1 R Jackson and Co M who hold their sales in conjunction, report that they held their second wool, skin, hides, and tallow sale on Wednesday, offering 38 ' bales wool, 1500 skins, 250 hides, and a quantity of horse hair and tallow. There was a good attendance of buyers, a contingent coming from Wellington,and bidding was brisk. Everything on the catalogue was cleared at full market rates. We quote :— Wool—Crossbred 9d to ?*d, lambs' wool 9d to 7^d, medium crutchings 6d to 6J,d, dead wool 7jd to B^d. Skins.—Good crossbred skins 8d to Bid, half wool 7-|d to BJd, short, wools (i?vd to 7d, dead skins 6£d to 7£d, butchers' green up to 8s each. Hides.—Good ox up to 26s 6d, medium ox from 20s to 245, good cow up to 19s, medium cow 12s to 17s 6d, calf skins to 4s. A large quantity of the hides coming in to this market are very badly saved, owing to want of proper salting, and those; of course, realised lower prices than quoted above. Tallow.—ln casks. 18s to 19s 6d pel' cwt., rough fat 14s per cwt., tallow in tins 17s per cwt. Horse hair, Is 2d per lb. Cow tails, 1.3 2d per dozen. The next sale is fixed for 22nd November, and settlers are requested to have all produce,forward by the Monday previous to the sale.
