RIVER AND BEACH TRAGEDIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, December 27. A girl of 13 and a youth aged 18 were drowned in accidents which marred the holiday period in the district yesterday. One tragedy occurred in the Rangitikei River at Ohingaiti and the other in the Hautabu River at Taihape. Those drowned were Janet Audrey Perry, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. R. Perry, Ohingaiti, lost in the Rangitikei River, and Stanley Alexander Gardner, son of Mr and Mrs W. O. L. Gardner, Carver Street, Taihape. CHRISTMAS DAY DROWNING. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, December 28. Alan Gilmour, aged 27, was drowned at North Brighton beach, Christchurch, on Christmas morning. He leaves a wife and two young children.
