CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD.

CANVASS FOR MEMBERS.

A meeting of the Executive committee set up to further the formation of a Chamber of Commerce in Masteron was held yesterday. The executive has tentatively fixed •entrance fees for membership which will be submitted to the next general meeting for confirmation. The proposed fees are graded and are on a scale well within the means of individuals and firms.

It has also been decided to carry out an active canvass for members and in due course members of the executive will be waiting on business houses with a view to enrolling members in the new organisation. It is realised that the Chamber will fill a long felt want in thhe community and will receive the whole-hearted support of individuals and firms.

The executive also considers it desirable that every prospective member should take an active interest in the new organisation and with this end in view it is proposed to set up committees dealing with various aspects of community life such as Communications and Transport, Industrial, Rural. and Rehabilitation generally. Every member, it is hoped will take an. active interest on one or more of these committees.
