GREYTOWN
RETURNED SERVICES CHRISTMAS TARTY (“Times- Age” Special.) _ The Greytown Returned Services Association held its Christmas party in. the Odd Fellows’ Hall on Friday night. The guests of the evening were the wives and children of members of the forces serving overseas. In the absence of Miss Higginson (president of the branch), Mr S. C. Shedden extended a hearty welcome to all and expressed the hope that before the next party the war would be over. Mr Harry Graham gave several items which were greatly enjoyed by the children. After supper Father Christmas arrived and distributed gifts to all the younger children. Each child also received a flag. Bowling In the weekend progressive pairs games W. Higgison won the skips section, and S. Brice the leads. A. G. Peterson and HI Johns tied for 'the consolation. In the Booth Cup game Greytown and Martinborough drew, two games each. Fourteen sets of bowls have been sent, to Wellington to be stamped by the official tester. TOWN HALL “THE VOICE OF TERROR.’’ There will be shown tomorrow night the sensational drama, founded on Conan Doyle’s famous story “Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror.” The chief roles are taken by Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Reginald Denny and Evelyn Ankers.
