MASTERTON CLUB.

WEEK-END RACING

The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held two races on Saturday—a team’s race from Tatimarunui, an airline distance of 145 miles, and a flock race from Mercer, an airline distance of 253 miles. A cup donated by Mr J. Mayes for the winner of the Mercer race was won by R. Braggins. Splendid weather conditions were experienced, and the flying times were< good. The following were the results:

From Tatimarunui: L. Wickens’s team (time 3 hrs. 50 mins.), 1; J. Mayes’s team (3 hrs. 52 mins.), 2; A. Pinkney’s team (3 hrs. 52 mins. 26 secs.), 3; R. Stewart and Son’s team (3 hrs. 53 mins. 48 secs.), 4.

From Mercer: R. Braggins’s “Little Princess” (time, 7 hrs. 24 mins. 34 secs.), 1; L. Wickens’s “War Lord” (7 hrs. 25 mins. 50 secs.), 2; R. Braggins’s “Boy Lux” (7 hrs. 26 mins. 10 secs.), 3; A. Pinkney’s “Flying Ace” (7 hrs. 38 mins. 19 secs.), 4; J. Mayes’s “Smart Boy” (7 hrs. 39 mins. 34 secs.), 5; I. Mayes’s “Shrimp” (7 hrs. 39 mins. 41 secs.), 6. In the contest for the points prize, R. Stewart and Son have a lead of 5 points over A. Pinkney, the points being as follows: —R. Stewart and Son, 89 points; A. Pinkney, 84 points; J. Mayes, 83 points. Next week the final race of the old bird season will be flown from Wellsford, an airline distance of 335 miles.
