NEW SEASON’S PRICES. ANNOUNCEMENT BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. “Agreement has now been reached between the Government and the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board in respect of the opening schedule for wether and ewe mutton and for prime ox and prime heifer beef,”’ said the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Roberts, last evening. He gave details as follows: — Wethers (Prime). —481 b. and under, s.*d; 49/56, 4 : jd; 57/64, 4-’-d; 65/72, 4{d; 73/80, 2 ; ?d. Wethers (Seconds). —561 b. and under, 4’d; 57/72, 4 l-Bd. Ewes.—64lb. and under, 3 l-8d; 65/72, 25-8 d; 73/80, 1 7-Bd. Beef. —Prime ox, all weights, 34s per 1001 b.; prime heifer, all weights, 335; ox, second quality, all weights, 295; heifer, second quality, all weights, 28s; po>y, first quality, 27s 6d; boner, all classes, 20s. Those schedules will operate from the beginning of the 1943-44 killing season and will be retrospective in respect of any stock already killed.
