SALE AT ADDINGTON PRICES FIRM IN MOST SECTIONS. FAT LAMB VALUES ADVANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 1. Markets were firm in most sections at the Addington stock sale today. Store sheep sold up to recent rates and prices for both beef and mutton yvere up to last week’s level. Fat lambs showed a further advance, exceeding the opening export schedule rates. There was a heavy decrease in the yarding of store sheep. The best twotooths sold from 25s 6d to 27s 9d; and four-tooths made up to 25s 3d. With a strong all-round demand by the trade prices for fat sheep showed a considerable advance on those of the closing stages of last week’s sale, and practically recovered the loss of 3s to 4s a head then recorded. Best wethers made up to 43s 7d, ewes to 42s lOd. Fat cattle quality was better than at recent sales. Prices generally showed .little change, compared with the last sale. Good beef ranged from 53s to 57s per 1001 b., special pens to 635, medium to good, 47s to 525; ordinary, 43s to 465. The sale of porkers was sound throughout, values being fully up to recent rates. Choppers prices showed a further easing of 5s to 10s a head. The entry in the bacon section was the largest of the season, and with competition hardly as keen as last week a drop of from 3s to 4s a head was recorded. The average price per lb. was 8d to BJd. MASTERTON SALE KEEN COMPETITION YESTERDAY The Wairarapa Stock and Station Agents’ Association report on .their weekly sale at Masterton yesterday as follows:—A small yarding of sheep came forward and was offered to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition was keen and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. . The following list of our principal sales will indicate values: Prime heavy fat ewes, 12s to 13s; fat woolly wethers, 335; heavy shorn do., 265; woolly 4 and 5-yr ewes with b.f. lambs at foot, 18s 7d (all counted); medium do., 15s 6d to 16s (all counted); ctill ewes with cull lambs at foot, 10s Id (all counted); b.f. woolly hoggets, 20s 8d; medium m.s. hoggets, 19s 3d.
