WORKMEN’S FRIEND NO. 2. MEETING OF MEMBERS. An extraordinary general meeting of the Workmen’s Friend No. 2 Building Society was held last evening, Mr Wm. Kemp presiding over a fair attendance of members. The sum of £5OO was offered for appropriation by sale. A tender was received for an appropriation of £4OO. Mr A. A. Langley, of Palmerston North, was declared entitled to the appropriation of £4OO. As no tenders were received for the sum of £lOO, the appropriation was balloted for. Mr Wm. Kemp, of Masterton, was declared entitled to the sum of £lOO. Subsequent to the extraordinary general meeting, a meeting of directors was held, Mr Wm. Kemp presiding, there being also present: Messrs A. V. Dixon, T. B. Braggins, E. .J. Brown,'S. M. Gilding, E. H. Morton, A. E. Hubbard, H. L. Price and C. W. Walker.

The finance report as submitted by the secretary was confirmed. The secretary was authorised to pay over the sum of £3OO upon receipt of the necessary mortgage in regard to a recent appropriation. Messrs Wm. Kemp, A. V. Dixon and the secretary were authorised to deal with any special business arising prior to the next meeting of directors to be held on February 2, 1944.

Mr T. B. Braggins conveyed season’s greetings to the chairman, secretary and his staff, which were heartily reciprocated.
