SCOUT RALLY

MASTERTON PARK NEXT SATURDAY. COMPETITIONS FOR TROPHIES. Wairarapa Scouts and Cubs will hold a rally at the Masterton Park on Saturday afternoon, when competitions will be held for the Beetham Shield and Booth Cup. Over 300 boys will participate in the rally, ■ from Eketahuna, Masterton, Carterton, Greytown and Featherston. The programme will commence at 2 p.m., with the breaking of the flag and a march past of the boys present. The competitions will include tent pitching, ambulance work, signalling, water boiling, trestle building and knot tying. The Beetham Shield will be awarded to the'Scout jroop gaining the greatest aggregate points while the Booth Cup goes to the Cub pack securing most points. A collection will be taken up on the ground in aid of disabled soldiers of the Wairarapa. A large attendance of the public is anticipated.
