TARARUA BROWNIES
END OF YEAR GATHERING On Saturday the Tararua Brownie Pack held a successful function, combining the end-of-year break-up with a money-raising effort in aid of the Baden Powell Memorial Fund. After the enrolment of two Brownies the Pack entertained the mothers and visitors with four singing games, and later everybody joined in a treasure hunt and “art exhibition.” The real business of the afternoon was done by the work stall, which was stocked with many useful articles made by the Brownies, and this stall, together with the Shoe Shine depot and. the Buttonhole stall, was instrumental in adding £4 2s 8d to the large sum already raised by the Guide Movement in New Zealand towards the purchase of National Savings Bonds for the Baden Powell Memorial Fund.
