FANCY DRESS PARTY
CHILDREN OF ST, PATRICK’S SCHOOL. LIST OF PRIZE-WINNERS. St. Patrick’s Hall, Masterton, was crowded last night for the annual children’s plain and fancy dress party. The variety and excellence of the costumes worn was commented on by those present and the whole organisation reflected great credit on those responsible. The Sister in charge of St. Patrick’s School thanks all who assisted with donations of prizes, etc., and Mrs Cairns and helpers who arranged the supper. The following is the list of winners:—lnfants: Barry Church (Indian) 1, Josephine Greenlees (walking doll) 2. Standards 1 and 2 (girls): Jennifer ‘-•■'Selby (flower girl) 1, Pauline Bourne and Betty Lyttle (bride and groom) 2. Standards 2 and 3 (girls): Lilian Edwards (kitchen evening) 1, Zita Robinson (squander bug) 2, Leona Ball (Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary) 3. Standards 5 and 6 and secondary girls: Judith Archer (Hawaii girl) 1, Shirley Oliver (Russian lady) 2, Allison Hanley (Chinese lady) 3. Boys and girls, under 5: John Bell (boxer) 1, Barbara Downes (Little Bo Peep) 2. Standards 1 and 2 (boys): G. Turnbull (Maori) 1, Peter Hunter and John Fantham (equal) 2. Standards 3 and 4 (boys): Desmond O’Connor- (Cowboy) 1, Laurie Dwyer (cat) 2. Standards 5 and 6 (boys): P. Corry and T. Camden (Mum and Dad) 1, Maurice Voyce (cricketer)
The following programme was presented:—Singing and dance, St. Patrick’s .infants; dance duo, Joan McLaren and Elizabeth Kiesenberg; recitation, Margaret Hoar; songs, St. Patrick’s Choir; dance and song, St. Bride’s juniors; folk dance, St. Patrick’s Stds. 1 and 2; dance, St. Brigid’s girls; recitation, Zita Robinson; dance duo, Eileen Greenlees and Peggy Hunt; folk dance, St. Patrick’s Stds. 3 and 4.
