BATTLE DETAILS

AIR & LAND OPERATIONS TARGETS BEHIND ENEMY LINES. - AND NEAR YUGOSLAV POINT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.10 a.m.) RUGBY, November 26. High ground north-west of Castel Di Sangro, captured by the Eighth Army’s left flank, completely dominates the town, which is still in the hands of the Germans, reports a correspondent at Allied headquarters. There has also been fighting nearby and round Alfedens, on the Fifth Army’s right' fl'dnk, where the weather has been misty. The Germans have been trying to hit the Sangro bridges with artillery and bombs. The flooded state of the river and the muddy ground have made operations slower than they otherwise would have been. The weather has prevented heavy bombers going out, but Michells attacked Port Ancora. A strong force of Bostons, Baltimores, and Warhawks concentrated with good effect on enemy positions and motor transport in the PescaraLanciano area. Spitfires attacked vehicles near the Yugoslav port of Dubrovnik.
