Air Training Corps.
As a result of the recent air training corps recruiting campaign in the Wairarapa, nearly 100 cadets were enrolled. In addition to the Masterton and Carterton flights it was hoped to form detached flights at Eketahuna, Greytown and Featherston. Flight Lieutenant C. Stedman, Commanding Officer, Wellington Wing. A.T.C., has expressed his thanks to all who assisted in the campaign. Whatman School.
At a recent meeting of parents of children attending the Whatman School it was decided to hold a shop day in Masterton on Wednesday, November 24. Arrangements are already well in hand in connection with the following stalls: —Cakes, sweets, toys, clothes, 'produce, vegetables and miscellaneous. The shop is to' be run in conjunction with the Junior Red Cross Circle, the members of which have for some time past been making garments, toys and useful accessories. In order to help to stock the various stalls a social gathering will be held in the school on Thursday evening, November 18, when admission will be by coin or gift.
