The British Government today may invite Turkey to come into the war, as an active ally. The British United Press says this invitation may be issued when the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mr Menemenjoglu, meets Mr Eden in Cairo today. Mr Menemenjoglu and Sir H. Knatchbull Hugessen, British Ambassador to Turkey, have arrived in Cairo from Ankara. - A message from Madrid says the Turkish Minister in Rome refused a German request to transfer his Legation to Northern Italy, saying he would remain in Rome until the Allies came.
