HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB TEAMS RACE AT WEEKEND The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a teams race over the weekend frbm three places—Taumarunui, an airline distance of 145 miles; Te Kuiti, an air line distance of 185 miles, and Mercer, an airline distance of 253 miles. A trophy donated by Mr W. Harding was presented to the owner of the winning team, Mr A. Pinkney. The weather conditions were against the birds, there being showers of rain together with a "cold southerly wind.
The following were the results:—A Pinkney's team 1, W. Steer’s team 2.
The next race will be from Opua (North Auckland), an airline distance of 410 miles. The winner will 'receive a special prize donated by Mr C. Johnston, Masterton.
