LAWN TENNIS
PARK CLUB OPENS SEASON.
GATHERING ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
The weather was cold and wet on Saturday for the official opening of the Masterton Park Tennis Club’s season. There was a good attendance of members and supporters. Mr A. Kelly, president, declared the season officially opened. He referred to the work of the former secretary, Miss B. Martel and said that she had been a most efficient and courteous officer and extended a welcome to the new secretary, Miss Jean Riley. Mr Kelly welcomed new members and expressed the hope that the club would experience a successful season. Afternoon tea was served by a ladies’ committee.
The courts were open for play yesterday when, with the improved weather, there was a large attendance.
