GENERAL MARSHALL
NOT GOING TO EUROPE FOR SOME MONTHS. ACCORDING TO AMERICAN SERVICE JOURNAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, October 24. General Marshall will not leave Washington for several months on his voyage to Britain to head the Allied forces invading western Europe, says the “Army and Navy Register.” This is in accordance with disclosures that the projected movement of forces from the British Isles to the lowlands of France will not be undertaken till the spring or 'the early summer. The “Register” says that the delay in the naming of General Marshall’s new duties does not mean that the plan to send him to Europe has been discarded. Informed circles are confident that the plan will be carried out. It is improbable that the decision will be reversed or materially modified.
