Mr Patterson added that Mr Warren’s auditors had actually approved 99.5 per cent of the vouchers submitted by the War Department in the four months ended in August. Mr Patterson stoutly denied that the War Department contracting officers were inept and'inefficient, and dished out Government property and money with reckless abandon.
