Advance holiday accommodation at Christmas and New Year have been heavy in Auckland, being heaviest within a radius of 20 miles of the city owing to the petrol restrictions. Camping sites are in greater demand owing to the difficulty of obtaining seaside cottages. Caravans are also much sought after.
