“KIPPENBERGER” MARCH
(Official War Correspondent, N.Z.E.F.) JERUSALEM, October 10. _ Men of the Fifth New Zealand Brigade paraded today in a desert camp to hear for the first time their new brigade march. The battalions formed three sides of a square, and after a short address by Brigadier K. L. Stewart, the march was played by the brigade band under Lieutenant C. C. E. Miller. “This march, called Kippenberger, has been adopted as our own march in honour of the gallant and distinguished officer who commanded the brigade in so many actions,” said Brigadier Stewart. “1 want every officer, non-commissioned officer and man to remember and recognise the tune and what is signifies. The march was composed by Drive)’ Aoilcs, of the N.Z.A.S.C., who served under Brigadier Kippenberger in the pre-war Territorials.
