FISHING SEASON

BRIGHTER PROSPECTS FOR COMING WEEKEND Bad weather for the opening of the fishing season in the Wairarapa prevented many anglers from even attempting to catch fish but at least one enthusiast who braved the elements landed six trout from the Ruamahanga River on the opening day. Now that the weather has improved and the rivers cleared, anglers are looking forward to better fortunes this weekend, if the improvement holds. To most anglers, should the conditions be favourable, the real opening of the season will be the coming weekend.
