GIVEN DEFINITE PLACE IN BRITISH PLAN INCLUSION AS ALTERNATIVE SUBJECT STATEMENT BY" MINISTER (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) RUGBY, October 7. The President 01 the Board of Education (Mr R. A. Butler) said in London today that a deputation from the Free Church and the Anglican Church had asked him to insert in his education plan provision for religious instruction. He said the Government proposed to include in the plan provision for religious training as an alternative subject in obtaining a certificate, and intended to find a definite place for religious teaching and religious expression in every school.
