INVASION OF BALKANS

PREDICTED BY BERLIN COMMENTATOR DISAPPEARANCE OF SEVENTH ARMY. PREPARATIONS IN APULIAN. r (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, October 2. The Berlin radio's commentator, Captain Sertorius, says that considerable new Allied forces have been landed or are being landed at Taranto, Brindisi and other Apulian coast ports. Part of these forces are obviously reinforcements for the Eighth Army, but the greater part is probably in tended for other special tasks, not necessarily in the Italian theatre. It is feasible, he says, that a body of troops is being built up for which Apulia will be only an interim base on the way to an invasion attempt in the Balkans It should be remembered that the American Seventh Army which has disappeared since the conclusion of the Sicilian campaign has not reappeared. Commenting on the Italian campaign, Sertorius said that Field-Marshal Kesselring has.not yet accepted the great battle in which the Allies doubtless want him to engage.
