LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FURTHER RAIN AND DRIZZLE GRADUALLY IMPROVING. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate to fresh southerly winds. Weather dull with further drizzle and rain. Temperatures cold. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Gradual improvement. The Waingawa Sub-Station P.W.D. reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum 49, minimum 45; terrestrial, ■ 44; rain, 48 points.
Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 43 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.
