OBITUARY MRS V. A. BROOKS > I'" (“Times-Age” Special.) The death occurred yesterday at the Otaki Beach hospital of a former wellknown and highly respected resident of Greytown in the person of Mrs V. A. Brooks, widow of Mr Herb. Brooks, at the age of 57 years. She leaves a family of six children. The late Mrs Brooks was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Ingram, of Masterton. The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving St. Luke’s Church, Greytown, after a short service at 3 p.m. for the Greytown Cemetery. CHRISTMAS PARCELS FOR SERVICE MEN OVERSEAS. The Greytown Citizens’ Patriotic Committee is busy packing Christmas parcels for members of the forces overseas. Personal Items. Miss Lois Thomas, of Island Bay, is the guest of Mrs H. G. Carter, McMaster Street. Miss Joan Judd has returned to Greytown from a holiday visit to Auckland. Miniature Rifle Club. The Greytown Miniature Rifle Club will hold a competition tonight. TOWN * HALL NEW PROGRAMME TOMORROW. At the matinee tomorrow afternoon and again in the evening, there will be shown a new programme in keeping with the high standard of pictures shown at the Town Hall. The excellent class of picture and the courteous and efficient management have made the Town Hall a popular centre of entertainment.*
