CUB RALLY

COMPETITIONS AT CARTERTON. MO KATOA SUCCESSFUL. On Saturday afternoon the Mo Katoa Cubs met the Carterton Cubs in competitions in the Scout Den at Carterton. The meeting opened with a combined grand howl of the two packs led by the Mo Katoa senior sixer, K. Camden. The Carterton Cubmaster then broke the flag after which the competitions began. Competitions covering all Cub work were carried out. After a very amusing apple-bobbing relay contest, the two packs marched to Carrington Park where the main event was held —a chariot race. Two teams of five boys from each pack took part and the result was as follows:. Carterton 1, Mo Katoa 2, Mo Katoa 3, Carterton 4. Afternoon tea, which was arranged by Mrs. Falconer, of Carterton, was served in the Red Shield hut. The Carterton Cubmaster, Mr. I. Martin, after announcing the results of the competitions, congratulated the Mo Katoa Pack. The results were: Mo Katoa, 52 points, 1; Carterton, 44, 2. Miss O. Curry the Mo Katoa Cubmaster, thanked the Carterton Cubmaster and three cheers were given for the winners, for the Carterton Pack, their Cubmaster and his assistants.
