4 AIR ATTACKS ON JAPANESE IN BURMA. DAMAGE DONE TO TRANSPORT & BARRACKS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) RUGBY, September 19. An India communique states: “R.A.F. Beaufighters maintained their attacks on communications and installations in Burma. Among the targets in the Prome area were two locomotives, five lorries, 20 campans and barracks on the railway from Prome to Petpadan. Hurricanes were active on the Mayu Peninsula, attacks being made on enemyoccupied villages. One aircraft is missing.”
