WEDDING

BIGLEY—CHILDS At St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Masterton, the marriage took place recently of Patricia Bonnie, third daughter of Mrs C. M. Childs, Mauriceville, and Corporal Lloyd Lawrence, U.S.M.C., eldest son of Mrs and the late Mr Ernest Bigley, Arkansas City, U.S.A. The Ven Archdeacon E. J. Rich officiated, and Miss Henderson presided at the organ. The church was beautifully decorated with japonica, primus and spring flowers, by Miss Mollie Dolan, a girl friend of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Private John Childs, looked charming in a gown of heavy white slipper satin, made with short puffed sleeves, high waistline and circular trained skirt. A coronet of white hyacinths held the long tulle veil in place, and she carried a sheaf of spring blossoms. Miss Judith Childs attended the bride. She wore a frock of ivory ripple georgette. Her head band was composed of freezias and prunus, and she also carried an arm sheaf of spring blossoms. Sergeant H. Smith, U.S.M.C., carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony an informal reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother 'at Mauriceville. When Mr and Mrs L. L. Bigley left for a tour of the South Island, the bride wore a smart light blue ensemble with navy blue accessories.
