Mrs Studholme, Cole Street, Masterton, is staying at the Hermitage, Mount Cook. Miss Kyle, Katikati, is visiting her sister, Mrs Ashdown, Cole Street, Masterton. Mrs Way, College Street, Masterton. has returned from a visit to the South Island. The death occurred after a short illness in Napier this week of Mr James Edward Brown, father of Mrs F. D. Graham, of Lincoln Road, Masterton. He spent his early life at sea and came to New Zealand from Yorkshire, England. about 30 years ago. The death occurred recently at Matamata of Mr J. F. Saunders. Born at Featherston in 1867 Mr Saunders belonged to a pioneering family, his mother (nee McHardie) having come to New Zealand with her parents in the “Lady Nugent" in 1841. In 1907 he took up farming at Ngaere, Taranaki, where he lived until six years ago, when he retired to spend his remaining years at Matamata.
