f LADIES’ AUXILIARY. MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. The monthly meeting of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A. was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms yesterday. Mrs H. Bannister presided.
The treasurer’s report was considered very satisfactory. The following members were elected to the social committee of the association: Mesdames Bull, Flaws, Marchbanks, Corskie and Pickering (secretary).
It was reported that members of the Auxiliary had been invited to a sewing bee in the rooms on Saturday afternoon.
The resignation of Mesdames H. E. Pither and F. McKenzie were received with regret. The Auxiliary extended to these two members their warm appreciation of the valuable work done by them while members of the Auxiliary. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Welsh for having made the shoulder spray which had been presented to Mrs Jones at the last meeting.
A meeting of the executive of the Ladies’ Auxiliary wil be held on Friday, September 17, at 7 p.m. Mrs H. Bannister was appointed temporarily to the position of president.
It was decided that the next meeting of the auxiliary be held on October 14. It was resolved that a “shop day” be held in November. The hostesses next month will be Mesdames Rayner, Roberts, F. Taylor and W. Taylor.
