TRAIN OVERDUE
GUARD’S VAN DERAILED. ON RIMUTAKA INCLINE. The Masterton-Woodville mail-train which left Wellington early this morning and was duel to arrive in Masterton at 11.15 a.m. was delayed for several hours due to the guard’s van, behind nine carriages, being derailed. Considerable delay was experienced in clearing the line and the train was due to arrive in Masterton this afternoon at 2.45. The mishap occurred between the Summit and Cross Creek on the Rimutaka incline. Passengers for Hawke’s Bay were taken on from Masterton by rail car.
