LATE RATES MAINTAINED
AT CARTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations:—Sheep: Fat wethers, 395, 39s 6d to 435; prime hoggets, 36s to 40s; fat hoggets. 24s Bd, 27s 9d, 28s 6d, 28s Ed to 29s 9d; light fat hoggets. 225, 22s 6d to 23s 6d: fat ewes, 26s 3d, 27s 3d to 32s 9d; medium wether hoggets, 14s 7d to 15s 7d; b.f. hoggets, to 15s 2d; ewes with b.f. lambs at foot (all counted), to 13s Bd. Cattle: 3-yr. Jersey cross heifers on drop, £lO, £ll 10s, £ll 15s to £l2; springing 2-yr. Jersey heifers. £4 10s, £5, £5 10s to £6; springing cows. £4 to £8 10s; fat heifers, £6. 17s 6d to £7 15s; fat cows, £6 to £7 7s 6d; forward cows, £4 to £5 10s; store cows, £2 12s 6d to £3 15s; cull cows, 15s to £2. Pigs: Forward stores. £3 7s, £3 10s to £3 Ils; choppers, £3 2s; sows, r.w. boar, £4; P.B. Tanaworth boar, £4: store pigs, £2 Is. £2 ss, £2 6s. £2 Bs, £2 Ils to £2 14s; slips, 35s to 38s; weaners, good, 30s to 345; weaners, medium, 25s to 295; weaners, small, 22s to 245.
