WELFARE LEAGUE
♦—— MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES. The monthly meeting of the Women’s National Welfare League was held in Masterton yesterday afternoon. Those present were Miss Kummer '.'i the chair), Mesdames S. Fletcher, S Munn, H. P. Harrison. S. Coradine, ... W. McKenzie, R. C. Erummond, R. Whybom and S. N. Kilgour. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Morton, H. E. Pither, L. Hunter and Miss Guild. Mrs Fletcher reported that 3 visits had been paid to the Public Hospital in August. - -' The usual teas, etc., had been provided. The visitors for September are Mesdames Whyborn and Drummond. Mrs Carruthers reported that a parcel had been sent to the A.N.A. Club, Wellington. A letter was received from the A.N.A. Club, relating to freight charges on hampers. All members willing to assist in this work are asked to ring telephone 1921. Mrs McKenzie reported that clothing had been supplied in one case. The secretary reported that the T. G. McCarthy Trust had donated £5 to the funds of the League. It was reported that a parcel of woollen caps had been forwarded to the Buchanan Home.
