VITAL LINK
IN ENEMY COMMUNICATIONS DESTROYED BY BRITISH LIGHT BOMBERS. ATTACK ON CANAL LOCKS. LONDON, September 2. The R.A.F. has destroyed another vital link in the enemy’s transport system in the Low Countries. Hurricanes, escorted by Typhoons, today attacked three locks on a canal near Antwerp. In spite of a fierce antiaircraft barrage, the planes flew at almost roof top level. The pilots did a first-class job and many direct hits were recorded. Three Hurricanes and one Typhoon did not get back.
